AJATHS: First Contact

The hospital had suddenly had an influx of a new disease that attacked the human immune system, causing slivers of blue to appear on their skin as they deteriorated in health. The bodies of empty husks suddenly becoming unusable and disappearing as they passed on. The creatures that were once flourishing inside their bodies were now afraid to even possess new humans but soon almost all of them contracted the diseases.

Andy watched his family and friends die around him, choosing to abandon his host in the hospital. He had made the decision to find one and take the chance that this human had not contracted whatever was killing them. After all, he either died weak and without a husk or within a human by the disease. Crawling into a room, Andy could see a massive man hooked up to the machinery and his muscles barely contained by the hospital gown or even the blankets he was covered with. The doctor was gone and the hulking man was lightly snoring with his head leaning back and his mouth slightly open. A small sliver of drool was beginning to fall out of the side of this mouth, catching the white fluorescent light from above. Andy quickly crawled up the bed and could only hope this would not be the death of him.

His tiny legs pushed the man's lips apart and then he forced his way inside. He started to choke as Andy slipped in and then woke up, eyes fluttering and fingers clawing at his neck and his chest as Andy moved down his body. Within minutes, his eyes rolled into the back of his head as Andy consumed his new permanent hosts brain and took his place deep inside of it. With a grunt, he lifted up his head and gave his body a good flex as he felt the power he now had.

The human was greedy, cocky, and cruel. This made him a good host to take over, even more so with a fortune that could easily provide for the creature inside.

Andy's old host suddenly appeared through the door, no sign of the blue streaks and left on autopilot from there on out. Andy took over this man's life, blending in with the multiple successful businesses he ran and even enjoying the luxurious life in his penthouse, but he never dared leave his host out of fear of catching this illness that essentially eradicated the rest of his kind. No one survived and he was the only left.

That was until he met Remi and Luke.

"Are more coming?" I watched Remi and Luke patch each other up as Andy made sure his own husk was bandaged. Not that they had many injuries, mostly just small scrapes here and there along their muscular frame. I had remained close to the two I had arrived with as I was definitely unable to protect myself from the creatures now planning a full force effort to consume the last three of there species in existence.

"We can only assume that there are more which means we're going to need to find new hosts." Remi and Luke finished tending their wounds. They both looked at me with sad eyes and nodded, knowing that I was enjoying them inside there.

"Don't worry, we'll be able to come back to them." Luke put a hand on my shoulder and then the two of them leaned their heads back. The lumps in their throat traveled up and out as the bugs appeared between their lips, jumping down and landing in my open palm.

"Well this should be fun. It's just like old times." I place them on my shoulder and they both stay there as I turn to Andy who was now standing near me.

"I will not be changing hosts, but this one is strong enough to help with whatever we're going to have to do." He gave his host a flex, something he already found out I enjoyed. I think his fear was valid despite it being so long since the blue line was around. Even so, there still was a risk, but I think Remi and Luke knew what they had to do in order to survive. New hosts meant the chance of illness, but it also meant stronger numbers.

"What now?" I ask Andy.

"You're going to help them find new hosts while I make some calls. I had heard about a scientist of some sort, one who was working on a cure for the creatures." Andy swiped through his phone.

"That sounds amazing." I said, "Okay, I'll meet you back here." I nodded, turning away from Andy who was smiling as he lifted the phone to his head.

I found myself in the lobby with Remi and Luke hiding just inside my collar. The gym would be a perfect place to find a couple of new husks, especially now that their old ones were running on auto. I opened the door, knowing the layout as I had been here before and I went right over to a machine. Sat down on it, looking around the room before spotting some perfect physiques.

I felt the bugs stirring as they could already see who I was looking at and I remained at my machine while the bugs did their business. Luke crawled over to a man in a tank top, lifting weights while grunting. He let the weight fall into the floor and almost roared from the rush he was getting. Luke slipped in as he was easily distracted and his eyes fluttered while Luke took his place inside his head. He turned towards me, lifting and arm up and flexing the thick bicep I was excited to be worshipping later.

Remi disappeared behind some machinery and I stood up to go find him out of fear of accidentally being crushed. I had more faith in them, but I think I was on edge now that I had recently been attacked.

I saw a man, another tank top with thick muscle standing with a blank stare in the middle of some of the machines and I approached him.

His eyes fluttered as I stepped in front which meant Remi had successfully implanted himself inside him and he grinned as his whole body tensed up. He seemed to be enjoying his new husk and Luke came up behind me, his fingers pressing into my shoulders as he massaged them.

"These are pretty good. This place seems to be a gold mine." I almost moan as Luke presses his thumbs against the muscles on my back.

"We should head back up. Lots to do." Remi seemed to be completely serious, but Luke was making up for it as he wrapped his arms around my shoulder and walked with me back to the elevator.

Back in the penthouse, Andy was talking to the autopilot husks, leaving them on duty. They were a kind of sentinel protecting the penthouse.

"We've got an address," he says, sliding a piece of paper across the counter, "and he's closer than I thought." Remi and Luke looked at each other and I nodded, ready to help in any way that a human helping a group of bugs controlling bodybuilders could.
