AJATHS: Grub

The slivers of light spilling through the curtains were blurry as I blinked my eyes and stretched. My arms slid along the sheets and I realized that I was alone.

Mark, controlled by Remi, stood in the kitchen while Luke controlling his husk leaned against the bar. I appeared from the bedroom with my hair a mess and my clothing sloppily put on, evidence of the happenings of the night before. A small cum stain had dried on the hem and I chuckled, thinking about the missed snack.

”We’ll be having a meeting with him today. I have it all scheduled out. We’ll be meeting him at another hotel, in his room. Once we’re there, you just need to make sure you put me close enough to jump into him.” Remi said. They had been having a meeting.

“Will you be joining us?” Luke had turned towards me.

”I’d love to.” I smiled, walked into the kitchen and filled up a glass with water to chug.

”Perfect. I got you a little something. You should freshen up a little bit.” Remi was excited that I was down for whatever plan they had concocted while I slept. I knew I had sort of let myself go the past couple of days. I was caught up in all the excitement. I walked into the shower of the master bedroom and noticed a sticky note on the closet door. I slid the mirror door and revealed a pressed white shirt with a patterned under collar and cuff as well as a pair of pleated pants. They were so crisp hanging there and I was excited to have a business look to blend in with the others.

The shower was short, I did what I needed to do and got out. With the towel wrapped around my waist, I looked in the mirror at my physique. I wasn’t a body builder or anything and over the years I had gained a little belly, but I was at least on the taller side. I smiled at my reflection and then turned away from it. As I slid into my starched shirt and pants, I realized how good they felt on my skin. Luxurious and sleek. I had a bit of trouble tying the tie, but after the third true I managed the get it to do what I wanted it to do. I slid my hands down the front of the satin fabric and admired the pattern. A black tie with a red vertical stripe just off center and then a thinner one next to that.

“I hope you like it.” Remi had appeared in the doorway. Mark’s body barely fit in the doorway and the strands of hair on the top of his head brushed the frame. I looked at myself in the mirror and nodded.

”I love it.”

The sleek black SUV pulled up in front of another hotel. Rob was on autopilot driving us around as a hollowed out chauffeur. Luke was inside his host and he climbed out of the back seat with a pair of sunglasses and a tight shirt wrapping the mounds of muscle on his torso. I slid out behind him, feeling and looking as good as I have ever felt and wearing my own pair of shades. Remi was in my bag which was wrapped around my shoulders and protected on my back. It’s not like anyone could have known about the bug on my back.

“Be back in an hour. Don’t scratch it.” Rob tossed the keys to the valet and I followed him inside. The conversations that followed were so quick that I found myself drifting off and instead of paying attention to the words, I was staring at the other men in the lobby. Possible future husks for Remi and Luke. This hotel was just as elegant if not more than the one we just came from. Two men in suits escorted us onto an elevator and from inside their jackets they pulled out a key. With a twist of their wrist, the elevator beeped and we were moving upward in silence. It took quite a bit of energy not to laugh, but Rob had given me a look that signaled a bit more serious than I expected.

“We’ll leave you be.” The two men in suits stood like statues in the elevator as the doors closed and we heard the clacking of billiard balls in the next room. Upon entry I noticed first the hulking man leaning over the table and watching the balls roll into the pockets of the table. Next I noticed a man’s leg poking out from the side of the sofa. My eyes widened, but my fears were calmed when his hand appeared and lazily hung off the back of the sofa.

”Welcome.” The large man said, turning around and leaning against the pool table.

Luke had taken off his sunglasses which was my signal to tap the bottom of my bag. Remi crawled out and cling to my shirt.

My attention had directed back to the man we came to see. This man was massive. I don’t think I had seen anyone as big as him and he was definitely not someone I wanted to quarrel with.

“Do you have what I asked for?” The man asked. Luke turned towards me and I took the bag off of my shoulder and set it down on the table. As I let go of the bag I noticed that Remi was no longer attached to my back and instead had climbed back onto the underside bag. I backed away coolly and returned to my position next to Rob. The man had glanced at me in a way that was familiar, but I ignored it. I was too nervous now.

”There you go.” Luke said. The man’s stared at us for a moment before turning towards the bag and in that time it Remi had crawled around him and jumped onto his shirt. We all watched as Remi climbed up the hulking man until he reached his ear.

The massive man’s hand slapped against his earlobe before he was even near it and he scooped Remi up in his fist.

“Nuh uh. Not any closer.” Remi’s leg was sticking out between his fingers as he tried to escape and all we could do was watch. He opened his fingers slightly only to get a look before smirking and turning back towards us.

“Don’t hurt him!” I couldn’t control myself. The terror had crept all the way up my throat and turned into an exclamation.

”Why would I do that?” The man tilted his head and then opened his mouth. A bulge appeared on his thick throat and then suddenly a bug appeared from his lips. He looked just like Remi and Luke except maybe slightly bigger and with some scarring.

”What?” Luke was shocked too. He was shocked he hadn’t noticed. The man put Remi down on the table and he stopped attacking, instead he had Rob come over and pick him up, bringing him to his mouth so he could be safe inside of him. The older bug crawled back into the massive man and then blinked a couple of times as he took back control.

”I’ve been inside of him since the sickness went around. Everyone I knew was dying and I grabbed this host as soon as I could. I haven’t been in anyone else since then in fear of getting another human sick and even more so losing my life. I’m Andy. Named after my father. He was one of the first to come here.” He cracked his neck and looked down at me.

”He’s not a husk. You can trust him.” Rob said. It was Remi in control and be placed a strong defensive hand on my shoulder.

“I figured. There was someone like you that my dad was attached to. He always wanted him by his side. I always liked that connection he had with the human and it seems like you have the same.” Andy pointed between the three of us and I blushed.

”We apologize for intruding. If we would have known we wouldn’t have tried.” Luke said.

”Not a problem. You were under the assumption that you were the only ones left. Really it’s just the three of us.” Andy seemed a little sad, which was understandable. He did lose everything and was trapped as this human. “It’s the same reason I took him. Lot‘s of power, plenty of money. Horrible personality and evil soul.” He shrugged. I saw the man on the sofa again and pointed.

”Is he a…” I trailed off.

“He’s a husk. Just like the two men who brought you up. I was able to save some of them from the illness, but I decided to stay in this one simply because I was too afraid to leave. It also helps that he’s a strong human.” He flexed his arms and I almost thought the shirt was going to rip at the seams.

”I thought these felt a little empty.” I heard behind.

”I guess you got them first.” Our attentions had turned towards the front entrance where the two men who were once wearing suits were now almost nude. The one on the left reaches behind him and shoved what looked like a tail into his back.

”What’s happening?” I had suddenly become very confused.

”Get behind the table.” Remi pushed me out of the way and the bugs stood together in their husks and with their empty husk. The man from the sofa joined them, putting up his arms to an offensive position that startled me and ever so slightly turned me on.

”We see you’ve got a fun little human pet. We’ll enjoy eating him too.” They looked through the hulking men at me cowering behind the wall into the living room. They had suddenly rushed the group of men, the two of them outnumbered by the possessed jocks, which confused me. Why wouldn’t they wait until we were all alone?

The first blow landed against Andy, the largest of all of them and spittle flew across the room, splattering the floorboards. He responded with a vicious punch to the gut which made the nude body guard look up at him with a smile. Luke and Remi went after the other one, pushing him back towards the entrance and then suddenly fist fighting as they were pushed off. The twin men were strong, even stronger now that the pig aliens were inside of them. Andy was able to pin his target to the billiard table while the other two struggled. They were strong, all of them, but they were having a hard time.

“You’re just puny little bugs. Nothing but a snack.” Perry wheezed as blood dripped from his ears and nose. Andy grunted and reached over to grab a cue stick and swiftly plunged the end through the man‘s head. The creature inside wailed an inhuman sound and I had to cover my ears. When I looked up, Lucias had backed off, his own blood dripping from his face and various wounds along his body.

”You’ll regret this. There will be more of us and there will be nothing left for you.” He dodged a blow from Remi and then jumped out the window, the glass clattering out as he crawled down the building to escape us.

I stepped out and the group of men looked at me with their battle wounds and it seemed as though for a moment everything would be fine, but they all looked at each other with a slight fear in their eyes.

More were coming and there was nothing they could do about it.
